If you haven’t heard already (you probably have) I have been nominated in two categories of this years UK Blog Awards. These are the ‘Green & Eco’ and ‘Social Influencer’ sections. Should you feel so inclined, I would really appreciate you taking the time to vote for myself and the blog you are reading right now using the following link: https://www.blogawardsuk.co.uk/ukba2018/entries/common-nature.
For those unaware, in addition to this blog, I also maintain a column for Northumberland Wildlife Trust – focused on the many fabulous nature reserves they maintain in my region and the wildlife that calls them home. This is something I do on a voluntary basis as I quite like the trust; though just because it is free does not mean it comes absent reward. For example, a few days past NWT issued a rather flattering press release encouraging people in my home county to back my UKBA nomination. Have you seen it?
Perhaps the most surprising addition to said release was a comment by NWT chief executive Mike Pratt, who concluded with the document with the following message:
“Come on everybody, get voting for James and bring some silverware back to the North East. He’s a talented writer, big supporter of our charity and a hidden jewel in Northumberland’s crown and well worthy of national recognition.”
High praise indeed and I, personally, am very grateful for the continued support of Northumberland Wildlife Trust! Extra thanks to Mike for such a kind recommendation.
